AIM HIGH
About Us
Falesizwe Senior Secondary School was established in January 1973, initially operating from two borrowed classrooms at Meduwaneng Public School. By 1975, it had its own premises with eight classrooms and an administration block, followed by expansions that added a library, laboratory, home economics centre, and woodwork centre. The school continued to grow rapidly, accommodating learners from Frankfort, Villiers, Tweeling, and surrounding farm schools. By 1988, the student population had risen from 50 to over 1,600. Alongside physical growth, Falesizwe excelled academically, consistently achieving pass rates above 70% and ranking among the top schools in the Orange Vaal Region. It also thrived in sports, music, and cultural activities, fostering a vibrant school community.
Over the years, Falesizwe’s leadership changed hands several times, with notable principals including Mr. PK Mzamane, Mr. SP Motaung, Mr. DJ Radebe, Mr. HM Mthombeni, Mr. PH Hlubi, and others. The school faced challenges, including severe damage during the 1990 riots, which affected multiple facilities. Despite these setbacks, the school community worked to restore learning spaces and strengthen security. Support staff and administrators, such as long-serving clerk Ausi Mapule Olckers, played a key role in the school’s operations. Today, Falesizwe continues to be a centre of learning, resilience, and community pride, building on its rich history of academic achievement and extracurricular success.
